International Wild Koala Day

International Wild Koala Day, observed on May 3, honors the iconic koala, a majestic member of the wombat family primarily found in remote areas of Australia. Recognizable by their large heads, fluffy ears, and tailless bodies, koalas are a symbol of Australia. However, the past few years have been particularly challenging for these beloved creatures. Annual wildfires and widespread deforestation have wiped out over 10 million koalas within a decade. International Wild Koala Day aims to raise awareness and advocate for the survival of these vulnerable animals.
