World Giraffe Day

World Giraffe Day, celebrated annually on June 21, was established by the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) to honor the tallest animal on Earth. This special day coincides with the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition to celebrating giraffes, the GCF uses this day to raise funds for giraffe conservation efforts and to increase awareness about the challenges these magnificent animals face in the wild.
