World Migratory Bird Day

World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is an annual event celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of migratory birds and the need to protect them and their habitats. The day was established by the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and the African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement (AEWA) in 2006 to celebrate the importance of migratory birds and to raise awareness of the need to protect them. The theme for World Migratory Bird Day changes each year, but it is always focused on highlighting the importance of migratory birds and the need to protect them and their habitats.
